There’s no option to delete a Google Shared Drive
This issue still gets me even though I know the answer. I went to delete a Google Shared Drive today and couldn’t. What gives? There are two possibilities.
- A Shared Drive with content in it cannot be deleted. Google does not make this obvious – after all, we’re only human. They could simply remove the option from the menu vs greying it out with a note about the directory having to be empty for deletion … or really any clue at all would be nice.
- Delete all the content from the directory and you’ll be able to delete the top-level Shared Drive folder.
- You do not have the level of access required to Delete a Shared Drive
- You need to be a ‘Manager’ of the Shared Drive in order to edit or delete the Drive.
