Find a Google Shared Drive ID

There are times you may need the ID of a Google Shared Drive. Perhaps you’re working on integration with Google’s APIs, sharing folders, or other jobs.

Thankfully, the ID of a Shared Drive is extremely easy to find – ironically, I could not confirm this information easily… so I wanted to post it here.

The Shared Drive ID is simply the end of the URL when viewing the folder via Drive.Google.com … it’s the jumbled part at the end.

Here’s what to look for in the URL: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/This-Is-The-ID-Location

You can also retrieve the ID from your shared link. In Drive’s sharing settings for a folder, click ‘Copy Link’ and then paste into a text field. This will share the folder’s URL that contains the ID.
