Can haz all the apps
The world of cloud computing is delivering more applications and services across more devices and to more users than any of us could have imaged just a few years ago. Choice can be a good and bad thing. In decision making and psychology, decision fatigue refers to the deteriorating quality of decisions made by an individual after a long session of decision making. The quantity of apps can be overwhelming. We end up with lots of cool stuff we don't use.
Less is more
We know there are tons of amazing apps but there's still only so much time in the day. To be as productive as possible we must rely heavily on just a few applications. Here are 3 of the most important to our business.
We've leveraged Hiver internally for as long as I can remember. The application is an amazing workflow service for teams. We leverage Shared Mailboxes to assign and track Support requests, Sales leads, and questions for our Accounting department.
Hiver has many excellent features but our favorites are Email Templates, Email Reminders, Send Later, and Email Notes. There are other services that do a great job of one or two of these features, but few that can do it all as well as Hiver.
As they say on their website, Loom really is a new kind of work communication tool that helps you get your message across through instantly shareable videos. Loom is dead simple to use and amazingly effective. It was a service we loved almost immediately and decided we couldn't live without.
G Suite is our go-to communications and productivity platform. It's hard to find a better match for G Suite than ProsperWorks - a CRM built specifically for G Suite. This company too does a great job of getting to the point on their website.
ProsperWorks integrates with G Suite and is super easy to use. If you can use Gmail, you’ll know how to use ProsperWorks.
- Eliminate Manual Entry: Automatically link to all related emails, files, and calendar events across the entire company
- Never Lose a Lead: Alerts are sent when your sales process isn't followed to ensure leads aren't falling through the cracks
- Keep Data Up-To-Date: Using PieSync's two-way capabilities, any changes to your Google contacts automatically update
An overwhelming majority of businesses don't leverage a CRM system. CRM systems can do many things, but one thing should always be true. A CRM should drive revenue and profit. The CRM does this by making you and your team a better resource for your current and prospective clients. The CRM should create and foster win/win, symbiotic relationships. In a healthy relationship, we work to understand each other on an on-going basis. Good relationships are incredibly rewarding. Poor relationships, not so much. A CRM system should help you find, understand, and perpetuate healthy, long-term relationships.
Time is the scarcest resource and unless it is managed nothing else can be managed. - The Peter Drucker
These applications have one thing in common. They save us time. And by us, I mean everyone in the relationship. They save our clients time, they save our partners time, and they save Umzuzu team members time. In this sense they give us all more of life's most precious resource. Time.
