Google Apps and your privacy

New privacy certifications for Google Apps

Today Google announced that Google Apps for Work has adopted the ISO 27018 cloud privacy standard. ISO/IEC 27018:2014 establishes commonly accepted control objectives, controls and guidelines for implementing measures to protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in a public cloud computing environment.

Among the certifications that Google Apps for Work, Google Drive for Work
(Google Apps Unlimited) and Google Apps for Education have now achieved
are ISO 27001, ISO 27018, SOC 2 and SOC 3.

Google has also introduced security innovations like encryption by default, two-step verification, security keys and a security checkup to protect your data. These features underscore their commitment to data protection as outlined in the Google Apps data processing amendment.
