Share Google Drive files right from your Desktop

If you work with legacy files types like Microsoft Word and Excel, you definitely want to download the Google Drive desktop app, there are also mobile versions for iOS and Android

Google Drive allows you to store all your files, videos and other documents in one place. The Google Drive desktop app gives you easy access to file formats that "live" locally on your computer, when installed locally on your PC or Mac these files will open directly on your computer without the need to download and then upload anything.

Now you can also Share your files with others directly from the Google Drive desktop app. Just right click on the file you want to share, look for Google Drive and select Share. The familiar Sharing Settings dialoge box appears, giving you the option to share with as many or as few people as you'd like.

This additional functionality is rolling out as we "speak" so if you don't see it yet, just sit tight. We're already seeing this functionality in our domain so you should see it shortly. If you get a chance to check it out, let us know how it works.
