A deeper look at Google's data center security

Google runs a network of some of the world's most advanced data centers. Google's infrastructure is its most important strategic asset. They have been custom designed with security and data protection in mind. For the 4million businesses that have moved to Google Apps and the thousands more that join them every day, these features help ensure that their data is kept safe.

Google does not allow public access to their data centers but they have been sharing more information about how these networked facilities operate to provide secure services at global scale.

Last year Google published the Google Apps security white paper, earlier this year Google hosted a security & reliability webcast and now they've shared a video that highlights some of the capabilities of Google Apps data centers, including:

  1. Physical security
  2. Data protection
  3. Reliability of operations
